A picture would help, so that I do not make any mistakes.

This form of contact is reasonably safe.

I don't know what an inhaler is. Explain it to me, and I should be able to make one.

Good. I don't want to put you in unnecessary risk. But you should know we're still protecting your temple.

It's a type of inhaled medication, used when someone has trouble breathing. It helps relax the bronchi in the lungs in an emergency.

How much trouble are you in if someone gets the device? Can you defend yourself?

I'm afraid I simply don't have much further information I can give you. And I would not want any of you to lose your lives for something like that, in any case.

I was not going to ask for your eyeballs.

Something like this would involve a sustained loss of power. I would need the same amount of power returned to me in some way.

[That plan's definitely out, and Chris can't say part of him isn't relieved by that. He was willing to go along with it if it'd do some good, but if it won't then he's happy not to have to.]

Right now, I am wary of anyone who hasn't proven that they can be trusted. That list is a very short one. However, I can't let my caution keep me from doing what needs to be done for all of you and for my companions.

I understand. In fact, not completely hiding away is perhaps the best way that you can inspire hope in the population under the circumstances. If you show courage, they may respond in kind.

[She can appreciate courage. She's not one to back down from an interesting challenge easily, and Hope is protective of the community, despite his lack of public relations skills.]

Just do bear my advice in mind with the magic construct. It's the best way to keep you safe while still allowing you the chance to interact with people and have a visible presence.

I am not sure if this would be your domain or perhaps that of Tranquility or Confusion, but is there some way to restore someone's memories of this place back in their world? An object, perhaps, that could be brought through the Door?

[She pauses.]

Not that I am requesting that immediately. You have more pressing matters. I just want to know if such a thing would be possible, since people do seem to remember being here before if they return, so it seems that the memories are repressed rather than completely gone.

They are. They always do. They've kept me alive this long.

[And that ended with most of them dead, of course.]

I only hope that their protection is not needed. They are in danger as well, after all. We all are.
