[Humans are so weird.]

There are some fish in the lake. I believe they are edible. Sorrow has also provided us with an orchard, which should supply vegetables as well. Are these things insufficient for what your... dog needs?

[ Will is especially weird, though, even other humans think that so it's not surprising that a God came to that conclusion too.

The main problem Will is having with everything Hope said, is that it involves Will possibly having to share with other people. He'd rather not have to have much to do with the other folk living here. ]

Okay, fish are A-okay to eat, got it. Other meats? Deer, rabbit, grouse? They off the menu altogether?

[ He doesn't care what it costs him. ]

See, the thing is... I'm very fussy with what I give my dogs to eat. I make their food from scratch, everything in it, is to better their bodies in some way or another... I'm worried about the lake of selection here, that Winston may suffer.

I can certainly try.

There are the monsters in the caves. I believe some of them are edible - you can ask the other residents here if you wish to be sure.

[He's all about cooperation and helping each other. That provides plenty of hope, after all.]

I won't create animals simply for you to kill them. Some canned meat is available in the shops, as well as the fish and monsters. If you wish for something else, we can make a deal. However, if your dog grows ill and dies, I will bring him back as I would the humans here, if you wish.

... Yea well, that may require me to be social... And I have an excessive and unreasonable fear of social situations.

[ Hope can't see it, but Will is freaking out on the other side of the device. Agitated, twitching, screwing his face up in mental discomfort. He just want's you to feed his dog, he doesn't want to have to make friends and actually talk to other people. ]

Look, as far as I've been informed, you feed on our emotions, yes? And as such, you need the matching emotion that doubles your name, yes? Because right about now you are doing nothing but feed a few of your fellow Gods through me ...

[ A deep, frustrated sigh as Will tries to calm himself. ]

How about this. How about you give me one, yes one deer, that's all. Hear me out... If you actually help me out this once, it's going to fill me with hope that you may possibly come through for me in the future... Whether you do or not is another thing entirely, but the point remains that you would have instilled some hope in me.

[ Personally, Will thinks you're the most troublesome God of them all! You deal in promises and broken dreams. He's never had much hope before, maybe that's why he's finding it so hard to talk with you? ]

It's that bad outside of here?

( Again, sceptical. Because this place sort of sucks, as far as she's concerned. )

I don't make deals based on what may happen in the future. If you wish to receive deer meat, do one thing that helps someone else or provides them with hope. In return, I can give you a carcass - however, it will not be living.

These are the sorts of deals we make. You can take it or leave it.

[ He was currently trying to help ease Bucky's pain... Perhaps if he made some progress with that, Hope would see fit to gift him the meat he requested. ]

And, hypothetically speaking, if I were to help others or make them hopeful on another occasion?... Could I assume you would provide me more of this deer meat for Winston?

[ If that was going to be the case, Will would have to be thrifty with the meat. Dry some, smoke some... He didn't want to have to spend too much time with other people so he'd have to make the most of it. ]

Hope, my friend, you have yourself a deal.

I suppose I could, for now. It takes energy, however, so we may need to renegotiate at some point, depending on how much you need. For now that sounds acceptable to me.

There's a pause, the sound of her tongue sucking against her teeth, the consideration of whether or not to say more. It'd be nice to help, if not for any actual altruistic reasons, then at least to sate her own need to do something, to not just sit around and wait to see whether they actually get to leave. )

( It was easier back home when things were black and white, when Superhumans = Good, Creatures = Evil and Humans = Largely useless. )
